Hi followers (well potential followers if and when I get some). Well the Relay for Life is done and dusted and team members: Tina Burnham, Steven Innis, Steven Walsh, Emma Walsh, Phil Bradshaw and I are glad it’s over.

The team started with the three Steve’s and Tina:

But once it was seen that we were light on, support came from Emma, (who started just as show of support for her husband) which quickly degenerated, I mean, evolved, into full team support.

So that as the team, what about our participation. For the record, we had at least one team member on the track for the whole 24 hours. The overnight duties (2300 – 0600) were borne (without complaint) by Steve Innis and I and during that time our team was never without representation. It was our goal to do this and we stood by it. At our one and only team meeting we all agreed that the spirit of the event was that we should be on the track for the whole event and we stood up to that challenge. Not to suggest that it wasn’t hard, but our suffering was nothing compared to those for whom this event was about.

And despite that we still made sure we had some fun:

The real kicker for us was that in the overall fund raising stakes we were the second highest team being pipped buy only a few hundred dollars by team Woollies and for individual efforts Tina came second and I showed a credible fifth. But for that we recognise our wonderful friends who all donated to the  cause. Thank you!

We have all committed again to next years event. Being better informed we will be more prepared for next year and hopefully will have more team members.
